Craic is a nightlife app for adults 21 and over. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your choices.
1. What we collect
- Account and profile: name, username, email or phone, photo, and other profile and contact fields you choose to add. If you use optional Facebook Login, we receive an app-scoped Facebook ID and, if you allow it, a list of your Facebook friends who also use Craic, used only for friend matching.
- Age: a self-declaration that you are 21 or older. We don't store your date of birth.
- Location: precise location while you use the app, to show nearby venues and record check-ins. Live location sharing is off by default. You choose to turn it on and pick who sees it (all friends or chosen friends), and you can turn it off anytime.
- Your activity: check-ins, Mightiness posts and media, chat messages, calendar entries, public events you mark "Want to go" (which friends can see if you choose), "Meet at venue" plans, blocks, and reports.
- Venue accounts: business name, contact details, and the content venue owners post, including recurring venue nights like trivia or karaoke.
- Device and technical data: basic data our hosting provider processes to run the service, like IP address and device type.
We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
2. Buzz score and public data
Craic shows each venue a "Buzz" score built from Craic check-ins and posts. It may also use:
- Reddit: through Reddit's official Data API, we count public mentions and upvotes of venues and keep the post's link (permalink). We don't store post text or Reddit usernames.
- Facebook: through Meta's official APIs, we read public events and like counts from venues' public Facebook Pages. We don't read personal profiles.
2a. Event listings
Public event listings come from venues, Ticketmaster's official API, and NYC Parks public data. We show event details only; buying tickets happens on the ticket seller's site under its own terms and privacy policy, and we don't receive your payment details.
3. How we use information
To run Craic: show venues and friends, power check-ins, chat and live sharing, calculate Buzz scores, verify venue owners, keep the app safe (moderation, reports, blocks, fraud and abuse prevention), respond to you, and comply with law.
4. Who we share with
- Other users, as you choose: your profile, posts, check-ins, and (if you turn it on) live location go to the people you pick.
- Service providers: Supabase (database and storage, hosted on AWS in the U.S. East region), Apple (app distribution and sign-in), Ticketmaster (event data), and Meta (optional Facebook Login and Page data). They process data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.
- Business transfer: if the company is sold or reorganized, under this policy.
5. How long we keep it

6. Your choices and rights
- Turn location services or live sharing off in the app or your phone's settings.
- Block or report any user or post in the app.
- Delete your account in the app (Me tab → Delete account), or email Operations@mellyindustries.com. This deletes your profile and content, except records we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
- To delete data that came from Facebook Login, follow our data deletion instructions or email us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or to appeal our decision. Email us and we'll respond within 45 days.
7. Age limit
Craic is only for people 21 and older. If we learn someone under 21 is using Craic, we'll delete the account.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and short retention periods. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us about any problem.
9. Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
